POLYCOM VVX SERIES PROVISIONING GUIDE


Note: Depending on the VVX model you are provisioning, these steps may vary slightly. Please refer to the device administration guide for additional information.

Factory Reset

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Select the Settings option.
    • For VVX 101, VVX 201, and VVX 301, the Settings option is located on the second page. Scroll to the right and locate the second page of the menu.
    • For VVX 400/410, VVX500/510, and VVX 600, the Settings option is located on the bottom row of the menu.
  3. Select Status or press 4.
  4. Select Network or press 2.
  5. Select TCP/IP Parameters or press 1.
  6. You should see the IP Address of the phone displayed on the screen.
  7. Open a web browser on a computer that's connected to the same network as the phone and enter the phone's IP address.
  8. Login as admin, the default password is 456. If that password doesn’t work, it means your phone has a different password set and you’ll need contact whomever configured your phones to get that password
  9. Using the menu at the top of the screen, go to Utilities > Phone Backup & Restore.
  10. Expand the Global Settings section.
  11. Press the Restore button, then press Yes on the confirmation screen.

Update Firmware

  1. After your phone reboots, repeat the steps above to get logged into the phone's admin web page.
  2. Using the menu at the top of the screen, go to Utilities > Software Upgrade.
  3. Press Check for Updates.
  4. Under the Software Available at Polycom Server section, select the highest version available.
  5. Press the Install button, press Yes on the confirmation screen, and then press Accept on the license agreement screen.
  6. The phone may reboot several times to complete the upgrade.

Configure for Intulse Provisioning

  1. After your phone reboots, repeat steps steps above to get logged into the phone's admin web page.
  2. Using the menu at the top of the screen, go to Settings > Provisioning Server.
  3. Expand the Provisioning Server section.
  4. Set Server Type to HTTP.
  5. Set Server Address to “boot.intulse.net/polycom”.
  6. Set Server User to your ClientId number. (This can be found under your Organization Profile by clicking on your icon in the Account Center.)
  7. Set Server Password to your provisioning password. (This is the same for all your phones and is distinct from any other passwords used with Intulse. To get this password, please contact the Intulse support team.)
  8. Expand the DHCP Menu section.
  9. Set Boot Server to Static.
  10. Press the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
  11. Using the menu at the top of the screen, go to Utilities > Reboot Phone. Then click Yes on the confirmation screen.
